Photos: Courtesy of the Artist I wonder, what gets left behind when we (both as individuals and as communities) are obliged to fit, along with our histories, into a city that is seemingly driven by function and preoccupied with impersonal concepts like population growth, mixed-use development and urban renewal? How do our associated fears of loss relate to our experience (and later, memories) of buildings and spaces (both private and public) that we may have formed attachments to?
